NFL Broadcast Package on NBC

We had the honor of partnering with NBC to create the broadcast package for Super Bowl LX, which will carry forward into the next four seasons of Sunday Night Football. This project was a true labor of love—driven by meticulous attention to detail and a desire to push the visual language of football broadcast beyond what’s traditionally seen on television.

Development

For the Super Bowl on NBC, our broadcast package evolved directly from the iconic angular flares that frame the Sunday Night Football logo. Those flares were expanded, duplicated, and extruded into a bold visual backbone that carried motion, structure, and rhythm across the entire package. By extending this core geometry into a broader visual language, the system felt both elevated for the Super Bowl stage and unmistakably rooted in the legacy of Sunday Night Football.

Single Player Interstitials

For the single-player interstitials, we introduced a fast hit of live-action to immediately put the athlete in motion before resolving into a classic, heroic headshot. A logo-driven wipe bridges that action moment into the portrait, creating a seamless transition from energy to identity, before snapping out cleanly to the mark. The result feels dynamic and modern while still honoring the tradition of iconic player presentation.

Two Player Interstitials

For the two-player interstitial, we leaned into scale by opening on bold, close-up portrait photography of each athlete, filling the frame with intensity and presence. Inspired by the momentum of the single-player interstitial, we carried that reveal energy forward before pushing through into the final lockup with player information. The result feels powerful and cinematic—two larger-than-life competitors colliding before the graphic resolves with clarity and authority.

Team Text Interstitials

For the team text interstitials, NBC wanted to go big. We blast past the team logo through radiating neon lines before landing on a massive billboard drenched in each team’s colors, built to showcase iconic phrases and chants. The move feels loud, proud, and stadium-sized—capturing the energy of each fanbase in a bold, graphic statement.

Generic Interstitials

The generic text elements carry a significant load for Sunday Night Football, so for the anniversary season we leaned into the diamond pattern woven throughout the package. That geometry became an elegant framework for messaging—allowing information to move quickly, feel premium, and resolve with clarity. The result is a system that delivers copy with speed and sophistication, while subtly reinforcing the visual identity of the overall broadcast.

Matchup Interstitials

The matchup interstitials were some of the most exciting elements to design. We quickly reveal each team logo in a dynamic 360-degree rotation before snapping into the final resolve, creating a sense of anticipation and scale. A fast transition out, driven by each city’s tri-code, adds a sharp, modern finish that reinforces identity while keeping the energy high.

Three Player Interstitials

For the three-player interstitials, the challenge was delivering more information in a tighter window without losing impact. Our approach was built around speed and clarity—using fast, decisive moves that get us to the players immediately and prioritize readability. The result is a high-energy presentation that feels efficient and intentional, while still carrying the scale and authority of the overall package.

Retro Interstitials

The retro interstitials were a distinctive addition to the package, created to honor historic and Hall of Fame players from the NFL. Gold became the defining visual language—elevated, timeless, and worthy of the legends it framed. The format was designed for quick clarity, allowing viewers to immediately connect with iconic imagery while celebrating the league’s rich history with a premium, commemorative feel.
